Simon Burton

Managing Director

Simon has 23 years IT/Computing sales and sales management experience. He has been Vice President of Sales at Speed-Trap since its inception in 1999.  Simon is responsible for all aspects of sales and business development strategy and implementation in order to ensure that the Company meets corporate sales and revenue goals. In addition to heading up the sales function team at Speed-Trap, Simon has a hands-on role developing strategic relationships with Original Equipment Manufacturers (OEM’s), Value Added Reseller (VAR) relationships along with strategic End Users.

Prior to his tenure at Speed-Trap, Simon was Sales Director (EMEA) for Maxoptix Corporation for 7 years, a pioneer in optical technology, where he successfully established their international offices and devized and implemented a successful pan-European indirect channel strategy. He was also responsible for developing and managing the Corporation’s European OEM accounts and specialized in the medical imaging, Telco/switching systems and broadcast/AV editing manufacturers throughout EMEA.

Simon's experience of implementing effective indirect business relationships is ideally suited to Speed-Trap's chosen indirect business model, which allows the company to support global sales into a wide variety of vertical and horizontal markets via the company's extensive range of partnerships and resellers. Simon’s interests include travel, music (especially Pink Floyd), his two teenage daughters and all sports (a golfing bandit)!

Malcolm Duckett

VP Marketing and Operations

After spending the early part of his working life in Research and IT functions with Shell, Malcolm moved from "User" to "Vendor", working in Computer graphics, & Telecommunications companies in support management, marketing director and product management roles. 

Following a spell as an "Industrial Storyteller" founding and running a high-tech PR company he became one of the group who founded Speed-Trap, and is listed as one of the patentees behind their Dynamic Collection technology. This unique approach to data gathering makes Speed-Trap unique in the market.

Malcolm has spoken around the world on the application of advanced technology to business, and with Speed-Trap has focused on helping marketing and business functions within on-line organizations understand just what can be achieved by close analysis of the way their customers interact with their web sites and applications.

Using Speed-Trap's unique dataset Malcolm and the Speed-Trap analysts have been able to help major B2B and B2C internet businesses realize triple-digit improvements in their conversion rates, and marketing campaign ROI. While he is not a web designer, in 7 years of working in this area he has gained a unique perspective on what works and what does not in the online world."

Lincoln Goldspink

Chief Technology Officer

Lincoln joined the Speed-Trap team in 2001, took over management of the software engineering function in 2002, and became CTO for Speed-Trap in 2007. Lincoln is co-patentee for a number of Speed-Trap's market-leading innovations. Lincoln has specialized in the application of cutting-edge Java technology to real-time and mission critical systems.

Prior to Speed-Trap Lincoln worked for Telecommunications company ECI Telecom developing advanced management systems for their line of high-performance public network switching systems.

After graduating Lincoln joined weapon systems company GEC Marconi and became design authority for the man-machine interfaces for several command and control, radar and weapons control projects.

Lincoln brings a strong software engineering background based in delivering high-availability and high-performance software solutions using a rapid prototyping approach enabled by Java's object-oriented capabilities to deliver flexible, customer-focused functionality with very short lead times.

Carmel Warren

Chief Financial Officer

Carmel joined Speed-Trap in 2007 and brings a wealth of experience in the financial management of businesses large and small.

Carmel is a Chartered Accountant with over 20 years experience in various financial positions within multinational companies. Her career started in Ernst and Young, London in 1986, progressing onto Debenhams PLC and then onto ExxonMobil.

At ExxonMobil, Carmel had financial responsibility for a variety of departments and projects including Financial Accounting for the UK group, Exploration division, Group Controls advisor, Consolidation Manager following the merger between Exxon and Mobil and Contracts Manager for contracts exceeding £200m.  More recently Carmel Joined Brightside PLC, assisting them through their AIM flotation.

Speed-Trap

Speed-Trap is a provider of software that uses Web 2.0 technology to capture and deliver complete, real-time data on every individual on-line customer and prospect, based on detailed analysis of their current and historic on-line behavior and experience – complete on-line customer insight.

Software solutions built using Speed-Trap are being used to drive, monitor and measure on-line marketing activity, business processes and real-time content management systems.

These include applications such as campaign management, customer segmentation, customer experience monitoring and on-line performance measurement. Other customers are using the technology to monitor key business metrics, to provide operational insight crucial for website design and for on-line fraud prevention.
