Using technology previously only considered to be available in sci-fi thrillers, Speed-Trap's Real-Time Engine (RTE) shows retailers exactly what their online customers are doing, right as they are doing it! RTE enables our customers to deploy solutions that can instantly and proactively target the customer with appropriate, real-time content at the point of contact.

RTE, takes a real-time event feed from our unique Dynamic Collection™ servers (with their zero-touch/one-touch deployment strategies). This event feed provides a complete record of every visitor’s experience, behavior and environment while on the site – and then applies business rules to provide real-time “session-state” information.

Real-Time Session State

You can query this real-time session state via a web-services request to receive the data your personalization or decisioning components need to make instant decisions on the next content to display or action to take. This allows personalization to be not just based on generic or historic information, but upon up-to-the-second information directly from the session, including organization and geo-location information.


RTE not only makes the session-state immediately available but can also determine the identity of online visitor as they land and then attempt to relate that identity to historical records, for the long term view!

This ability to pre-fetch historic information about the customer gives real-time personalization applications instant access to all the information they need to make informed decisions in milliseconds.

With both real-time behavior and customer history available from the very start of their visit (via integration with our ABI CRM systems) you can build responsive and dynamic web sites and applications with Click-time™ personalization and targeted marketing.

Our technology is the only solution that can combine long-term visitor history, batch-derived scoring and real-time behavioral & interaction data and reliably deliver this to decisioning components in millisecond timeframes under the most severe loads. For example, a traditional personalizing “next best offer” system may have identified a number of products which may be of interest to a customer, but the availability of real-time session-state information can allow the system to select the exact offer based on the real-time actions they are taking, rather than taking a "best guess" as to the right message.

Session State Accessible via SOA Services

The RTE system maintains a “session-state record” for each session on the site, which includes information on the origination of the session and significant business events which have occurred since the visitor arrived. This allows personalization and decisioning systems simple access to detailed, real-time information on any session without needing to interface to the site’s infrastructure and without needing to maintain your own session-state server or system. RTE solutions can also be deployed in an ASP model where our Dynamic Collection's zero-touch/one-touch deployment means you can go live in hours.
